when using google i had to use diffrent techniques. until i found the search with the least amount of results. http://www.google.com/#q=democratic+AND+republican+%22position+on+the+fiscal+cliff%22&hl=en&tbo=d&tbs=qdr:d,sbd:1&source=lnt&sa=X&ei=uTC5UOvGEa_BiwKe5oHwBw&ved=0CB8QpwUoAQ&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=94050f5c4f9ff5ce&bpcl=39314241&biw=1024&bih=550. democratic AND republican "position on the fiscal cliff" this was the search question that helped me in finding the answer.
the first techniques i used was to change up the original question. i would add words then i would take out words. also capitilize some words and lower case the other words. by doing these techniques it only made the results worse because i would end up with 170,000 results or even more. so i had to use more techniques so i added puncuation marks like question marks and quotations, but this also was no help.
my other technique was to play around with the search tool bar. this was more helpful cause i got less and less results and they had lots of information. I had to change the pop up blocker, and so the reviews can be by date.i also changed the question up and capaitslized certain words. In doing this I ended up with 8 results.
So it did take awhile but it helped me find the answer to the question with lots of information. It was time consuming but useful. This is the website I used http://newsrt.co.uk/news/republicans-reject-white-house-fiscal-cliff-proposals-as-incomplete-1017686.html.
